Friday 1st December 2023 - Golf Club Statement

We are extremely saddened to have to report the closure of Renishaw Park Golf Club. The Club has been struggling in recent years due to a decline in memberships, together with course issues caused by the increased frequency of flooding, and its operation is no longer sustainable. We are working closely with the Club on a managed handover and the Estate is relieving the Club and the Trustees of their liabilities.

Portfolio

Renishaw Hall and Gardens is in a beautiful and traditional English Country setting at the heart of The Sitwell Estate, which has a diverse portfolio of properties ranging from the trading activities at Renishaw Hall and Gardens to farmland, residential and commercial property.

Land

The Sitwell Estate extends to circa 5,000 acres of arable land, grassland, parkland, woodland and lakes. The Estate is predominately situated around Renishaw, Eckington and Barlborough but also owns properties close to Brampton-en-le-Morthern, Thurcroft, Old Brampton and Marsh Lane.

The Estate recently planted 35 acres of new woodland to the southwest of Renishaw Hall.

Residential

There are over 50 residential properties within the portfolio. The residential properties are let on unfurnished Assured Shorthold Tenancies, with a wide range of period styles and sizes.

Commercial

The Stables Courtyard at Renishaw Hall is home to seven different businesses, with the rest of the commercial portfolio extending across areas in South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.

Renewables

Renishaw Hall and The Stables Courtyard are heated by biomass boilers and fuelled from SRC Willow, which is grown on the Estate southwest of the Hall. There are also four wind turbines located across the Estate.
